By now I am sure you have heard it many times. The flu is now an epidemic here, and earlier in the season than expected. So, lets talk about some ways to prevent you and your loved ones from getting the flu.
Hand washing! After going to the bathroom, working out at the gym, being in a pubic place, blowing your nose, sneezing our coughing in your hand, or before preparing food or eating, you should wash your hands with an antibacterial soap for 15-30 seconds. Hand sanitizer can also be a great germ killer.
Flu vaccines. Vaccines aren’t just for the high risk patients any more. The flu has taken the lives of the young and healthy patients. Ask your doctor if he or she recommends you get vaccinated.
Eat healthy. Stay on a well balanced and healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables to ensure you are receiving the vitamins and minerals needed to fight off illness. Call in sick! Your boss might not like it if you call in sick, but NO ONE likes it when someone comes to work sick and spreads their illness. If you have flu symptoms or a fever, consider staying home, or working from home.
