When it comes to your dental care, you often must compromise getting the treatments that you need due to schedule conflictions. This is often true in the event of dental emergencies. While you never expect it to happen to you, it is estimated that one in six Americans will be in this position this year. Often, when an emergency strikes, it occurs at the worst time possible. It can be difficult to find an emergency dentist in Brookfield who offers the office hours that you need to quickly treat the issue. At Elmbrook Family Dental, S.C., we understand the struggle you face, which is why we offer early morning and late evening appointments to accommodate your busy schedule.

For many people, today is a day off of work and school. And with the slow, steady snow this morning, I think many of us are thankful not to be driving in it! But, today is not just a day off. It’s a day to remember. Did you know that Milwaukee is one of the only cities along side of Atlanta to celebrate MLK Day annually since 1984? We use this day to remember Dr Martin Luther King Jr. and the influences he had on our country during the Civil Rights Movement, protesting racism and promoting integration and equality. Many people now celebrate this holiday by providing acts of service for their communities, promoting the arts, volunteering and of course, re-telling his famous “I have a Dream” speech.
How will you celebrate today? How will you help our nation to continue to move forward toward even more equality?

The crowning of royalty is as ancient as the history of civilized societies. But whereas it has been a symbolic image for a governing body to convey its power, when it comes to your tooth, the crown serves a very important function. It is the main structure that rises from the gums and contains precious cargo – the inner tooth area, where the pulp and nerves are housed. But sometimes it gets damaged from tooth decay or from trauma. When this happens, something must be done to rectify the situation – you’ll need a new crown from your dentist in Brookfield. As you continue exploring, you’ll learn more about how this process works and how to determine when you need one.

We are thankful to have so many fantastic patients in our practice. The month of September was dedicated to raising money for the relief efforts that the J.J. Watt fund is providing to the Hurricane Harvey victims. Many citizens lost their homes, their cars, their pets and their belongings. They are being assisted by many great organizations that are helping them to get back on their feet. During September, our doctors raised money to be donated from those who paid for custom whitening trays. The money is being given directly to the J.J. Watt Hurricane Fundraiser. The total donated amount is $750!
Thank you to everyone who made the choice to whiten and brighten your smile. You have made a difference and we are glad to be donating to those in need because of you.
