Dr. Matthew Muelbl
For Dr. Muelbl, his favorite part of being a dentist is building connections with his patients and providing them with high-quality care that is tailored just for them. He always strives to create a relaxed and welcoming environment when looking after someone’s unique oral health needs. With him, the goal is to make sure you enjoy the journey toward your ideal smile as much as the final result!
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Muelbl worked in biomedical research for several years. Although immensely important for combating disease and finding cures, it was a career that left him feeling like something was missing. So, he started looking into different avenues of healthcare to fulfill his desires for patient interaction and directly helping others. Some friends who were dentists urged him to consider dentistry as they thought it would be a great fit. Sure enough, it was! Dentistry has allowed him to use his attention to detail and love for hands-on work to provide meaningful service to the community, and he says he couldn't be happier with his decision.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Muelbl earned his dental degree at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City where he provided dental care for medically complex veterans and learned advanced skills in dental surgeries, dental implants, and sedation dentistry. Always looking to get better and learn, he is currently a member of the American Dental Association and Wisconsin Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When he isn’t working, Dr. Muelbl loves to spend his free time outdoors, ideally swimming and hiking with his wife and their golden retriever, Chance. He also enjoys fishing, snowboarding, biking, and playing golf, and to relax, you’ll often find him on the couch cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.
